Today we took part in more Science activities for British Science Week! We took part in a whole school investigation about height. We measured the heights of all Year 2 children and presented this data in a graph. We also went outside for a Coke and Mentos experiment! Raunds Park Infants

Today in History, we've been learning all about Captain James Cook. We used Hot Seating and pretended to be Captain Cook using all the facts we had learnt, with the other person asking the questions. We then drew pictures and wrote facts about the famous explorer! Raunds Park Infants

Today, we launched our new topic, Magnificent Monarchs. We made a huge class timeline of all of the previous British monarchs, learning about the royal houses such as the Tudors, House of Windsor and Anglo-Saxons and putting them in chronological order. 👑 Raunds Park Infants

This term, Chance to Shine will be delivering cricket sessions to our Year 2 children. Today, we practiced our catching skills and played lots of games in the lovely sunshine! 🌞 Raunds Park Infants

Our Science topic this term is Plant Survival. Today, we went on a walk to spot seasonal plants and flowers. We had a checklist and ticked off all of the plants we spotted! 🌷 Raunds Park Infants

Yesterday, we started our D&T topic, 'Cut, Stitch and Join'. We looked at everyday objects made from fabric - looking at what materials they were made from, what fastenings they had, what they were used for and how we could improve them! Raunds Park Infants

Today we celebrated VE Day! 🇬🇧 We learnt about WW2 and looked at pictures and videos of the VE Day celebrations from 80 years ago. This afternoon, we learnt how to do the Lindy Hop and made flags, cards and wreaths to celebrate! Raunds Park Infants

Today we welcomed Leigh from SilhouetteYTC who led our Whole Child Project drama session! 🎭 We had an amazing day exploring the script and working on character, staging and projection. Scripts have been sent home with those children involved to practice their lines! Raunds Park Infants
