In ELA today we are reading independently and in groups, discussing WWII topics, researching and creating. In our perspectives unit, we’re learning about different views on the war. We sure appreciate Mrs. Ramirez for taking part in a group read today! YorkdaleCentral
Papa made this brain teaser in his wood shop and my students wanted a shot at it! The challenge: balance ten nails on one. 🤔 Grade 8s NAILED IT. YorkdaleCentral
Discussion day! Students have been reading different WWII based novels & are discussing the unique perspectives their main characters have of the war in each of their stories. ⏹ = I have something to say. 🔼 = I have a question/prompt. ⏺ = I agree/disagree. YorkdaleCentral
Students presented their business plans to the Sharks today to see who would invest in them! Big thanks to my colleagues for participating as judges in our Shark Tank activity. YorkdaleCentral
In starting politics in Social St., students created their own political parties. They created a specific plan in how to spend the classroom’s “tax dollars” and presented it to their peers in hopes of being voted for. An introductory activity which ended in debate! YorkdaleCentral
As per the Government of Saskatchewan policy for the Half-Masting of Flags, the flags on all Government of Saskatchewan buildings and establishments across the province will be flown at half-mast until further notice. Every child matters.
We had some visitors today in 2G ! Emma Castle ‘s grade 8’s wrote some incredible fables that they shared with our class! Many morals were presented & my students loved hearing them speak! 💛👑💙 YorkdaleCentral Good Spirit SD
Grade 8 farewell was this past week! I am so proud of this crew for the way they persevered and made the best of this year. The way they support each other, accept each other, and never forget to say good morning to us teachers. 💙 All the best at YRHS, kiddos! YorkdaleCentral
