Today Douglas Academy hosted an East Dunbartonshire Girls Football Tournament ⚽️ Thank you to all the teams who attended, you all played amazing! A big thank you to our amazing 3rd year helpers and referees 🤍 Douglas Red placed 2nd and Douglas Blue came 3rd!❤️

Pizza and Awards party for the girls football team to celebrate their hard work and dedication this year❤️ I am already looking forward to see what next year brings🌟 We also said our final goodbyes and best wishes to Louisa who is leaving, keep being you🥺

Last Friday Douglas Academy celebrated Active Girls Day! Girls’ in S1-S3 participated in an Agility Assault Course , Cheer and Dance for 2 periods . The theme of the day was Leadership. Each event was lead by our amazing seniors and sport captains. ⭐️

A great start to the season for our S3-4 team tonight with a convincing 29-4 win over a strong Kirkintilloch HS side. Thanks to our S2’s who came along to support! You held your own on the court 👏👏 Well done Isla who was voted player of the match Douglas Academy Douglas Academy PE

Another win for both teams tonight against St Ninians. Our S1-2s steadily improved throughout their game to win 18-5. Our S3-4 team were strong from the start, showing strong decision making skills & making fantastic interceptions, final score 24-2! Well done girls👏Douglas Academy

This week, we played an excellent Bishopbriggs Ac squad. S1-2’s had to dig deep to secure an 8-5 win. All players applied pressure on their opponents and challenged every pass. Our passing improved every 1/4, was lovely to watch! Well deserved! 🙌 Alex was POTM 🙌 Douglas Academy

Another victory for our S1-2’s tonight against Turnbull (20-3). A few of our S1’s enjoyed representing DA for the 1st time & played lovely netball. Our S2’s continued to storm up the court with our shooters scoring from all over the circle! Well done POTM Sophie 👏 Douglas Academy

Ending our year with our FoodBank drive. Donations from reg classes and Santa Dash were loaded up and will be heading to our local Food Bank in time for Christmas! Delighted to see our young people being so generous ❤️ Douglas Academy

Another super win for team Douglas tonight. This time our S5/6’s played Bishopbriggs in round 2 of the EDC league. The game was closely contested in the first half with great runs of play for both teams. 2nd half, we pushed hard growing in confidence, winning 27-12. Douglas Academy

Both S1-2s and S3-4s were in action tonight at home to Boclair. Both had a shaky start but grew in confidence and belief, playing some of their best netball we’ve seen all year! S1&2 won 14-4 continuing their unbeaten record & S3-4 narrowly lost 18-22 Douglas Academy #netball

Last night, we kick started the new season with wins for both our S1-2 & S3-4 teams against Kirkintilloch HS. It was great to see our new S1 recruits making such a great impact during their first match too 👏 Final results: S1-2 (9-5) & S3-4 (27-0) well done everyone Douglas Academy
