It is reassuring to see the increase in the number of pupils sitting for their A Levels in German this year by 3.5%. After a tough few years for schools this rise is even more encouraging for the learning and teaching of 🇩🇪 in 🇬🇧. Congratulations to all on #ALevelResultsDay2022!

On #EuropeanDayofLanguages I'd like to commend young people in 🇬🇧 who learn 🇩🇪, & the teachers who encourage them. I was lucky to grow up in a bilingual environment. Also had 🇬🇧 & 🇫🇷 as mandatory courses. Federico Fellini said: A different language is a different vision of life.

Every child deserves a teacher who cares about them. Every child also deserves a teacher who is supported, appreciated, and treated like a professional.
