Hello! I made this account around 2 years ago for a university ICT blog, but I thought I’d use it to document my NQT year!! #NQT #teacher

Yesterday I submitted my final assignment for my university degree and it brought back some extremely fond memories of first year. I am so proud of how far I have come and I have learnt so much on this incredible journey

I look back and think this is DEFINITELY not how I was anticipating my NQT year, but I am so excited to meet my beautiful kiddos and learn with them!

Lots of negativity on here about next years NQTs having placements cut short- surely its our job as more experienced teachers too ensure they are supported and feel ready for the classroom in September rather than adding to an already stressful situation that isn't their fault?

So pleased to have found out today that I will be teaching Year 5 for my NQT year. I absolutely loved teaching them on my final placement & cannot wait for more crazy adventures in Year 5 with a beautiful class ❤️.

Fellow teachers; why is this year so exhausting so far? I'm falling asleep at 9pm then struggling to get out of bed. Not tired in the day but totally wiped in evening. Not enjoying teaching at all so far this year. Anyone else feel this way? Totally lost my teaching mojo

Parents, a thread with a few ideas on how to help your child at home/school and build good relationships with teacher and a school, from a headteacher’s perspective…

Realising we have one week left is making everything a little bit more bearable 👏🏽 I love my job but WOW I am drained

HIGHLY recommend these two texts to engage all the children in your class! My children absolutely loved predicting from the Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig & thoroughly rated the use of dynamite as a way to knock down a house! #threelittlepigs #classtext

A thought... Maybe me and my friend shouldn’t be spending our Saturdays in Starbucks doing work? Maybe we should be able to have a weekend like everyone else? In an ideal world, yes. But not for a teacher. Work-life balance is just not feasible at the moment:(

This is a snippet of an animation the group & I created. We used icananimate to capture the photos and iMovie to further add sound

Technology should be constantly used as a cross-curricular subject, as it can easily be applied. It is something that will enable children to become creative thinkers, problem solvers & teachers.

Computing has become increasingly important due to the demands of internet on society, giving children the opportunity to, ultimately, learn an entirely new way of thinking and communicating

Technology will not focus on just computers, but iPads used in the classroom, and the smartboard at the front of the classroom. It can be used to track assessments and behaviour too. IT & computing can be seen everywhere in the classroom
