We are assisting with an elegant tern rescue effort! A huge flock has taken up residence on 2 barges in Long Beach Harbor. The unflighted chicks have been falling off the barges, & becoming waterlogged & cold if they're not scooped out, dried off, & allowed to fluff back up.

Enter the dedicated teams of responders, including California Department of Fish and Wildlife,International Bird Rescue, Aquarium of the Pacific, Oiled Wildlife Care Network (OWCN), & us! Over the past few days, collectively we've rescued over 600 birds, appropriately enough, during National Zookeeper Week! #NZKW2021 #WeAreAZA
