On a quiet afternoon, surrounded by her children and a couple of close friends, my mother passed away quietly as she would have wanted. There’s much I want to say, but the words beckon me to remain quiet, to hold restraint. So for now, rest in peace, Mom. Rest in peace.

It’s not when my voice is raised that you should worry. It’s when I have nothing more to say. At this point, I have absolutely NOTHING more to say.

In this one photograph are the ones that mean the MOST to me. They are my entire world. They are the loves of my life.

If people wanted to be spoken about well, then they should have behaved better. Kudos to my child who spoke up for me and protected me from evil.

If there’s one thing my child taught me today, it’s don’t ever try to fuck over his mom. Just DON’T.

The daily abuse that I endure from some patients as a healthcare worker wears on me. There are rare, unexpected moments though when I’m appreciated and thanked for the care that I’ve given. For now, those moments are enough to keep me balanced.

I’m still SMH over the patient who signed in to be seen in the ER only to yell at the Registration Clerk demanding that they be placed somewhere where there were no “sick people.”

Today I sat inconspicuously in the background as my mom was buried. I have been mourning her my entire life and today I felt no sadness, but rather something else that didn’t surprise me … Rage.
