It was wonderful to have Prof. Kang (DK) from Univ. of Arizona Optical Sc. and BME this week UH Physics for our colloquium. He spoke about the development of portable and cheap microscopes for a range of applications.

ParticlePhysics meets Imaging University of Houston. With Prof. Lisa Koerner UH Physics after our Friday lunch on campus. We joined University of Houston the same year. Lucky to find a supportive colleague (despite different research areas) who also became a good friend.

We had Tayloria Adams from UCIrvine Engineering give a really interesting seminar at BME UH Cullen College of Engineering. What an important topic. Enables understanding of electric field interaction with living cells. #Physics#Bio

End of an era UH Physics. Retirement party for beloved former chair Prof. Larry Pinsky. Brilliant, generous, visionary leader who started interdisciplinary research areas UH Physics. Both I and Prof. Koerner (pictured) were recruited during his chairmanship.

Very nice Malena Espanol . We need to start something like this for Modern Physics (+ Optics/Math) areas. Older curricula in traditional programs do not get to many new and interdisciplinary topics. So many opportunities exist when trained in these areas.

Thank you for hosting my Physics department colloquium today at UT Dallas. Special thanks to Lumata Lab group for the wonderful dinner conversations ranging from academics to life and election results!!

Nice read. Our group is working to dramatically improve the utility of X-ray and CT to separate similarly attenuating materials from one another in single-shot imaging. Like cancer from dense tissue or plastics from explosives. American Physical Society #XRayPhaseImaging

Today I will be hosting Dr. Anthony Guiseppi Elie for our BME seminar UH Biomedical Engineering UH Cullen College of Engineering. If you are at UH or in the Houston area and interested in implantable microanalytical systems, please join us.

Last week we concluded an excellent workshop on the next generation computational bio-imaging organized by 松泽(Lei Li). Thank you for the invitation to present our work on spectral and phase imaging of X-rays to improve soft tissue contrast.

It was great to meet Donna Strickland during my AMO/IQSE seminar visit to Texas A&M University Physics + delightful dinner conversations. Donna is one of the only five women (out of 226 laureates) to win The Nobel Prize in Physics. She is a Hagler Fellow at TAMU.
