One of the biggest challenges with distance learning is that it requires a high level of self-direction from students. For far too long, self-direction hasn’t been a priority in K-12 schooling. For this to work, we need to empower students to be the drivers of their own learning.

I am most thankful for my students always being ready with a smile and just being ready. They know I believe in them so they believe in me. Their wonderful parents help them show up, but my kids are doing the work. We always end our meetings the way we begin- with a smile 😃

Wait until you see this beautiful example of virtual learners connecting with in person learners... 3rd virtual students read their research projects to in-person 1st graders. 1st graders had to map out what they learned and 3rd graders practiced their fluency skills! Super job!

Adam is an incredible human! He’s a phenomenal educator inspiring kids to harness their creativity both in the classroom & his content on YT. He as an amazing friend & I am blessed to work with him. Adam is battling brain cancer & could use any support. Please do what you can.
