Minister of Labour and the Malawi delegation are having a meeting with the delegation from Netherlands to discuss issues around implementation of the Accelerating the Elimination of Child Labour in Supply Chains in Africa (ACCEL Africa) Project in Malawi.

The following key points have been adopted by delegates at the 5th Child Labour Global Conference.

The MW Tripartite Delegation (workers, employers and Goverment) held a meeting with Director General of the ILO, Guy Ryder on how ILO can continue its efforts to assist Malawi in achieving Decent Work in all sectors of the economy and priorities set in the Malawi 2063 Agenda.

In line with this Hon. Vera Kamtukule, Ministry of Labour emphasized that these meetings are essential because "without vibrant industries in our countries we cannot create jobs in the region." As such it is key for the Ministers to discuss to promotion of pro-employment policies.

Vera Kamtukule: As a ministry, we are open to working with WIN not only to support #women in #media, but also newsmakers. Women and men in politics face the same challenges as those in the media and we need to join efforts to end sexual harassment.

This coming Thursday we hold the joint sector review on the job creation strategy, under the theme “ A Pro-Employment/Development Agenda: Key to Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Growth and Development”
