I am absolutely delighted and deeply honoured to be nominated for a Teaching Hero Award. A big thanks to all my students at Maynooth University, and to National Forum T&L and @TheUSI for organising this event. #TeachingHeroAwards #SAAI2021

Estimating animal population sizes is increasingly important in areas such as conservation and wildlife management. This work with my supervisor Rafael Moral aims to estimate abundances for multiple species, along with their inter-species correlations #CASIposter2021

We are so excited!! Rafael Moral from Maths & Stats will deliver a very interesting, different & inspirational Maths Week Ireland online talk ‘Do statisticians have superpowers?’ to TY, 5th & 6th yr Maths classes in schools all over Ireland on 21 Oct. Booking @ mu.ie/mathsweek

OK. I'll say it. What are we to conclude from the all male The Nobel Prize awards in #STEM these past two weeks? 1st. I'm sure the winners were all deserving. There's nothing to take away from them, and that is not my intention. 1/12

In a time of rapid species decline, the ability to estimate animal population size is of great importance for wildlife management. I present results of a modelling framework developed to allow us to estimate abundance from trace data. Supervised by Rafael Moral #YISAPoster2022

Congratulations to Niamh Mimnagh, who successfully defended her thesis today at Maynooth University! Thank you very much Andrew Parnell and Hideyasu Shimadzu!
