For those of us who were listening to our black colleagues last week #BLM, the timing of the Hudlicky essay in Angewandte Chemie could not have been worse. How such a poorly written and poorly reasoned piece have been reviewed and published there is beyond me. TY Joseph DeSimone.

Out now in Science Magazine: we show that metal-metal bonding in mixed-valence dilanthanide complexes gives rise to enormous coercive magnetic fields at high temperatures. Thanks to NAWS China Lake, Prof. Nicholas F Chilton, R. David Britt, James Analytis, and National MagLab. bit.ly/3I4mT

Excited to share new work led by @Leo_Zasada! We show that discrete metal–organic macrocycles retain many of the cool properties of conductive 2D MOFs but with enhanced processability. Many thanks to collaborators Christine Luscombe and Jerry Seidler! J. Am. Chem. Soc. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja…

You can find @MercedesKTaylor’s statue on the first floor of National Air and Space Museum!

Inspired by the one and only Alexander Forse, check out our lab's first ever pre-print about CO2 capture in hydroxide-containing MOFs, a collaboration with Alexander Forse and Jung-Hoon Lee! Congrats to Mary, Queen of Separations, and Suzi! chemrxiv.org/engage/chemrxi…

Published today! A handy guide to interpreting magnetic susceptibility data. This article was inspired by my own struggles as a junior grad student and the idea that maybe the unwritten rules can in fact be written down. We are excited to share our awesome work on synthesizing a superconducting ink made of 1T-WS2 monolayers, led by Xiaoyu Song ! Here we show you can use chemical exfoliation to mass-produce high-quality 2D quantum materials. Also, the ink is stable in air! science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

So excited to share this work led by @ashe_kamin! We show how simple solvent-driven changes to geometry modulate a host of multifunctional properties in 1D iron chains. Many thanks to collaborators, including Ian Moseley and Joe Zadrozny! Chemical Science doi.org/10.1039/D2SC06…

Excited to announce that the Gonzalez Lab (chem-gonzalezlab.com) will open its doors when I join Dartmouth Chemistry as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry in Fall 2023! (1/3)
