The recent scandals in the UK evangelical church - Fletcher, Pilavachi, Smyth - and the failure to prevent the abuse by a circle of male colleagues who were told about it, demonstrates that it has not a shred of moral authority to preach at other christians about sexual ethics.

I trust that those bishops and other senior clergy of our church who signed the Alliance letter to the Bishops of the Church of England will never again have the effrontery to lecture the rest of us on sexual ethics from their moral high ground.

Well - hopefully that’s “the Third Province” well and truly up the spout. 🙏

All that covering up, shoving under the carpet, keeping it in house & desperate, clutching, reputation management, and for what? The reputation of the church is in tatters. Maybe prioritising the truth is what counts. To act justly. To love mercy. To walk humbly. Is that so hard?
