Today, we hosted the Health Security Sub-Group of Health Sector Development Partners to advance collective action on emergency preparedness & response. Together, we reaffirmed the power of multisectoral collaboration in building a resilient, equitable health system.

This week, we're supporting Ghana Health Service to conduct routine audits and competency checks of sexual & reproductive health services across all 16 regions. Audits help ensure standards are met, while assessments verify that providers have the skills to deliver safe, quality care.

As part of the The Pandemic Fund project, WHO Ghana is supporting AFENETAfrica train 5 advanced epidemiology residents to boost Ghana’s pandemic preparedness. Faculty from AFENETAfrica & WHO Ghana held a session with trainees to orient them on the training package & expectations.

A strong workforce is central to a good pandemic preparedness and response.

WHO’s guidance remain important for the adequate roll out of the ongoing EPI MLM training. Progress is being made on unlearning old practices and learning new evidence-based practices.

World Health Organization (WHO) and GIZ have long partnered to strengthen Ghana’s health system. Today, a WHO Ghana team led by Fiona Braka paid a courtesy call on the GIZ Ghana Country Office to explore ways of deepening this collaboration. Together, we will continue to support Ghana attain #UHC.

Policy works best when powered by evidence. Led by Fiona Braka, WHO Ghana Rep, we joined UNinGhana & partners at the Pre-Global Data Festival & High-Level Meeting to advance data-driven innovation, foster collaboration and shape inclusive policies that leave no one behind.

Thanks to funding from The Pandemic Fund, we’re working with #GiveBloodGhana to train their staff on blood safety standards. This capacity-building effort is part of Ghana’s journey toward safer transfusions, stronger health security and more resilient blood systems.

Today, we donated 4️⃣0️⃣ desktop computers to Ghana Health Service & Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG) to strengthen #NCD monitoring in Ghana. This will support the #NCD eTracker, enabling facilities to capture real-time data & improve care for people living with diabetes, hypertension & other NCDs.

Ghana’s immunization programme is making strong progress in protecting children. This week, together with Ghana Health Service, we are reviewing the half-year performance of #EPI programme to recognize gains, address challenges & find new ways to ensure every child is reached.

High vaccination coverage should translate into low disease burden. The ultimate desire of all actors in the immunization space.

Data collection is the first step; using it well improves health. With UK in Ghana 🇬🇧🇬🇭 support, we’re working with Ghana Health Service & experts to interpret Quality of Care Harmonized Health Facility Assessment results to guide actions for stronger care & better health outcomes.

Vaccination saves lives. Reduction in Measles morbidity and mortality in Ghana is an example at arm’s length to remind us. HPV vaccine has a huge role to play in the reduction of cervical cancer. Get your 9 to 14 year old girl child vaccinated.
