With all the net zero controversy going on-any news available on e-fuel? (Synthetic alternative to fossil fuel that can be burned in todays engines to instantly eliminate their carbon footprint). Not heard much about it for a while

Please Martin Lewis have a look at the Aer Lingus refund procedure. We followed instructions given which put us through to a chap who asked us to download an app (LEMFI) asking for a lot of personal details. Felt like a scam. We stopped it. Not good for a large company.

To all who are awaiting a refund from Aer Lingus . Please be careful. Links which purport to be legit Aer Lingus on this platform connects to people who try to get you to download the LEMFI app to process your refund. I believe this may be a scam. Aer Lingus any comment?

For everybody contacting Aer Lingus with respect to refunds etc, please do not respond to the replies to DM them with your details. It’s a scam that asks you to download an app etc. If you search the Aer Lingus website this advice is well hidden in their support pages.

It seems that Aer Lingus ‘s lack of engagement with customers re flight cancellations and refunds has allowed the bots (asking for DM’s and app downloads) to take over their customer response departments. Could be devastating. Very poor.

Aer Lingus have confirmed its 3 🇬🇧Manchester long haul routes will end by 31 March 2026: 🇺🇸New York JFK - ends 23 February 🇺🇸Orlando - ends 23 March 🇧🇧Barbados - ends 27 March Aer Lingus to operate 🇮🇪Dublin - 🇧🇧Barbados in April and May 2026 (subject to regulatory approvals)

Although I cannot criticise Aer Lingus decision to close it Manchester Long Haul base as it’s a business decision surely they must understand the absolute PR disaster their handling of their already booked customers is turning into? They have their details but no contact.

What an absolute PR disaster Aer Lingus are now finding themselves in with flights with them booked via British Airways being dragged into the whole mess. Maybe time to be proactive with booked customers and do the right thing. Contact, Refund, Apologise.

Surprised (not surprised) that the Aer Lingus (and now BA) customer services departments who are ‘trying to resolve’ issues related to the ‘pulling out of Manchester’ debacle have only joined this platform this month. Hmmm…🤔
