NOBODY WANTS TO LIVE IN ENCAMPMENTS OVER HOUSING. People live in encampments because they would rather live there than crowded shelters or on a park bench exposed to the elements. Encampments do not have "amenities", they address an urgent survival need.

In light of the events at the clergy session of the Florida Annual Conference, we will be postponing our workshop on Gen Z and Mental Health. We are doing this in part to offer an example of HOW to respond to traumatic events that occur in the lives of young people.

When young people are harmed - directly or indirectly - emotionally, mentally, physically, or spiritually, we cannot just go on as if nothing happened. We must hold space for pain to be noticed and named. Only then can those individuals be nurtured towards the journey of healing.
