2nd Grade’s STEM PBL is so much fun! Currently they are researching the connection between pollinators and the world. While researching pollinators they had the opportunity to to care for caterpillars as they made their transition to butterflies. DCSDSTEM

4th grade is hard at work in the greenhouse. Their PBL asks the question: How can a plant’s environment affect its growth over time? Today Mr. Hamby, our partner from Fernbank Science Center, helped explore how to effectively use our greenhouse. We can’t wait to learn more!

Thursday was STEM Day. We had so much fun completing a variety of STEM challenges including creating magnetic slime, engineering musical instruments, building Lego robots, and much more. DCSDSTEM DeKalb Schools, GA

Midvale's 5th grade worked with our partner, Georgia Tech's Cardiovascular Fluid Mechanics Lab. Students learned about the heart, what happens when it is not pumping blood properly, and created a valve. Thank you Georgia Tech! #dcsdstem #ibpyp #inquirybasedlearning
