I turned over a plank of wood in the microWild meadow today, and what a thrill!!! Not one, but two separate pseudoscorpions. If you know pseudoscorpions, you know how rare it is to come across them. Pseudoscorpions are our stunning and cute, non-venomous arachnid friends!

Last Saturday, we had the pleasure of Ryan Mitchell's company in microWild as he taught us all about Craneflies. It was a little windy, but we still found plenty of species on the estate, including a Phantom Cranefly. An excellent course and a great day!

We shot this piece on a cold, VERY windy day sitting IN the meadow. I was shivering towards the end. I'm surprised we got any audio - but it worked out okay. Jack is a lovely guy who is committed to learning all about Irish nature to guide and aid him in his rewilding efforts.

This wildlife pond in the wonderful microWild was starting to get smothered by grass, risking it becoming completely overgrown and potentially risking the local population of native smooth newts that breed there. We popped down today to give it a bit of a haircut. 🐸🐸🐸
