Happy to have our K13 paper by Barbara Stokes et al featured in a collection of malaria articles published by eLife - the journal! :-)
Very proud to finally have work from my Microbiology and Immunology Otago PhD project published. We successfully developed a protocol for in vitro CRISPR Cas9 modification of Plasmodium cynomolgi, as a model for investigating P. vivax drug resistance. academic.oup.com/jid/advance-ar….
Our paper is out in CellChemicalBiology! A huge thanks to everyone who contributed to this study! Dual targeting of P. falciparum proteasome subunits using covalent inhibitors provides a potential strategy for restoring ART activity & combatting malaria! dlvr.it/SlMPnr
Thanks Phil Rosenthal for this excellent commentary on our recent study on proteasome inhibitors in CellChemicalBiology! The Fidock Lab Ioanna Deni
It's all about covalent inhibitors! See how covalent macrocycles that target the malaria proteasome can prevent resistance. Great work from the Bogyo lab John Bennett in collaboration with The Fidock Lab. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Really happy to have this work published. It's been great working with Matthew Bogyo and John Bennett on this project.
Progress in malaria control in some countries in sub-Saharan Africa is challenged by several new threats, including artemisinin-resistant P. falciparum parasites with deletions in hrp2 or hrp3. Read the full Perspective by Brian Greenwood, M.D., from London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine:
Sad to say goodbye to all of my brilliant colleagues at the The Fidock Lab after finishing up my first postdoc, but really excited to start working with @ProfJakeBaum at UNSW!
Wonderful to have our work published in Science Advances! An enormous amount of work over many years, and a great group effort led by Sachel Mok and The Fidock Lab. Very happy to have been part of this project. science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…
It appears #NIAID will shutter the genome data base we all use daily. This strikes me as a significant mistake that may well endanger much of our global progress.
