Shunt flare ups are hard. Sometimes I accidentally strain my abs without realizing it and the pain around my incision site lingers for days. Kinda feels bruised and it’s sensitive to touch. I’m not sure if I’m the only one, but I feel like this isn’t talked about. #hydrocephalus

PSA to call and check in on your older adult friends that may be more isolated and immobile. You never know how much your call might mean to them. I just got off the phone with a fellow stroke survivor and she said I brightened her whole month 🥹

Disability vent: I played spades last night with a group of my parents’ friends. We played 16 hands & rotated who dealt each turn. Even though they all are kind and know about my stroke/hemiplegia, I still felt embarrassed when I had to ask someone to shuffle for me because of it
