'Whatboutery' identified an alleged behaviour. It filled a 'semantic gap' ie something was happening that didn't have a name. A lot of commentators are talking 'as if' Iran has a nuclear weapon. This then is 'asifery'. If you do asifery for long enough, the 'as-if' becomes 'is'.
