It's interesting to watch the slow march of realisation re: demographics taking place, especially in Europe. However it's also going to lead to some liberal shibboleths coming under scrutiny and it won't be pretty.

I just sort of assumed that sitting at 16% in the polls would somewhat limit the influence of that 'but we might anger the voters' line

I do have sympathy for this, but then I have the luxury of thinking this way as someone who managed to get on the housing ladder. My children - and most others their age - will struggle to do that, and that also defines who we are as a nation too.

Actually The Labour Party, you are the ones behind the curve on this. 70%+ of women think the abortion limit should be reduced (not increased), and the median time limit across Europe is 12 weeks. Babies are now consistently surviving outside the womb from 21+ weeks.

🚨NEW VIDEO🚨 Earlier this year I attended the unveiling of two new blue plaques to RAF pilots in the village of Cawthorne, Barnsley. I was asked to make a video about how this village commemorates its wartime past. youtu.be/bNpYQbU_Ems

Good thread. I'd also add the higher tax impact on single-earner households. If we're talking about fairness, we should be taxing household wealth

Thanks to The Times and The Sunday Times for highlighting the true cost of a pint - the main beneficiary is Govt with £2 in a £5 pint being paid in tax to fund vital public services. But with just 2p left over, the pub landlord is literally #TaxedOut

Seeing more and more posts from people basically tapping out - complaining society is against them, all is lost, there's no reforming it, we'll go where we're wanted. I get it, but I also think you'd benefit from 500 years of recusancy to stiffen your resolve. Not going anywhere
