You’re on a multi-million-pound salary, yet have no entrepreneurial track record. Essentially, you’re a globalist lobbyist with nothing in common with the average British voter. A complete snake-oil salesman.

As an editor of a mathematics journal, I am getting an increasing number of AI generated papers that look plausible, but are nonsense at a deeper (proof) level. Bad news: they are getting more plausible. Good news: AI ability at my end to judge nonsense is keeping up so far.

Celtic travelled south to play in Bryan Robson's testimonial on this day in 1990. Thousands of United fans invaded the field at full time & headed for the Celtic end. They swapped scarves and chanted 'Celtic.' I doubt that would happen today.

I always knew they'd say this. The idea that the whole Covid frenzy might have been an out-of -proportion panic was never seriously considered. What a waste of time and money . theguardian.com/uk-news/2025/n…

We did all this and more in the summer of 2020 and then again in the autumn of 2020. It didn’t prevent a lockdown on either occasion. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

The British political class has got into the habit of handing its most difficult jobs to second-generation immigrants. Rishi Sunak. Kemi Badenoch. Now it is Shabana Mahmood’s turn. David Goodhart for COMPACT compactmag.com/article/can-sh…

Any report that concludes (or assumes) that lockdowns were the answer and that they should have been sooner, harder, longer, is not a report I have any respect for. And the extra deaths it says arose? Turns out they were run off another model!

The inquiry submission are closer to superstition about zero-covid than science. Imagine if we had locked down "sooner and harder"... Who really believes lockdown would then have ended sooner?

'I'm only doing what the Government said.' So many people stuck to this line during the Covid era. It was obvious the guidelines, the rules didn't make sense. They were widely flouted by the elite. That's what embittered many. We should never sacrifice our scepticism again.

Fact check: not locking down at all (like Sweden) would have saved lives in the UK. Hard to believe how much money the UK spent on its sham covid inquiry.

The wider debate about Covid that Claire Fox has tried to address has been clamped down by #Newsnight tonight - in favour of a Westminster village conversation - ironically reminiscent of the censorship during lockdown !

BBC Newsnight (@bbcnewsnight) 's Twitter Profile Photo

"I actually think that lockdowns were a catastrophe." Baroness Fox says the Covid inquiry has "done a disservice" and "has limited itself in a very narrow way" - pointing to a "lack of intellectual curiosity" in its investigation. #Newsnight

The post-Covid and lockdowns era is considerably more violent, dystopian and authoritarian than the immediate pre-Covid and lockdowns era. There is less trust and more pessimism and apathy. I'm not saying Covid mismanagement caused this fatalistic turn but it is a factor.
