As an editor of a mathematics journal, I am getting an increasing number of AI generated papers that look plausible, but are nonsense at a deeper (proof) level. Bad news: they are getting more plausible. Good news: AI ability at my end to judge nonsense is keeping up so far.

Any report that concludes (or assumes) that lockdowns were the answer and that they should have been sooner, harder, longer, is not a report I have any respect for. And the extra deaths it says arose? Turns out they were run off another model!

The inquiry submission are closer to superstition about zero-covid than science. Imagine if we had locked down "sooner and harder"... Who really believes lockdown would then have ended sooner?

The post-Covid and lockdowns era is considerably more violent, dystopian and authoritarian than the immediate pre-Covid and lockdowns era. There is less trust and more pessimism and apathy. I'm not saying Covid mismanagement caused this fatalistic turn but it is a factor.
