Love the direction of Mason Freed's CSS accent-color proposal. It may not be enough just yet to avoid devs from implementing something fully custom, but it's a good start. github.com/mfreed7/accent…

HTML isn't done! We're working with Open UI to bring new elements like `<popup>` and `<selectmenu>` to the Web Platform. These should enable easy popup and select-like UI that are accessible by default and work with auto-fill.

In honor of popover landing in stable Chrome next week(!), I converted my CSS trigonometry radial menu demo into a popover! Now it has light-dismiss (click away to close) and keyboard bindings (hit esc key to exit) for free — no JavaScript required codepen.io/una/pen/Poydeyo

What Open UI is trying to tackle is not easy. I greatly appreciate L. David Baron @[email protected] comment that matches my sentiments on a slight hurdle towards style able and extensible components/controls: github.com/openui/open-ui…

“Post-truth is pre-fascism” - Timothy Snyder. Great quote. It’s unfortunate that those it’s aimed at don’t have the wherewithal to understand it.
