Minneapolis Police killed a man this evening by fatally shooting him while he was in a car in the Holiday gas station parking lot at 36th Street and Cedar Avenue.

2 shootings in one week. We demand more than thoughts and prayers. We demand that our communities are supported, that lifesaving legislation is passed, that violence intervention programs are funded. We demand a world free of gun violence.

We wake up to another mass shooting. 8 dead at a FedEx facility in #Indianapolis. 8 more flowers added to the @GiffordsCourage memorial on the national mall. In addition to the 100 others killed yesterday who will not receive media attention. Our national shame.

Only in America do we wake up grieving the memory of one mass shooting, just to hear about another. 14 years ago today, 32 students and educators were killed on Virginia Tech campus. We continue to fight in their honor.
