As we work toward #2Millionby2030, we’ve identified an 'Education Leaky Pipeline' and three focus areas to help close the gaps. By addressing these challenges, we can ensure more North Carolinians are equipped for success.

Focus Area #1) To reach #2Millionby2030, we must strengthen early education foundations and provide seamless pathways from Pre-K to postsecondary enrollment, military enlistment, or employment. Currently, only 31% of NC 9th graders earn a degree or certificate in 6 years, yet 2/3

Focus Area #2) We're focusing on the 1.2 million North Carolinians ages 25-44 without a degree or credential. Adult learners face many hurdles, and we must remove these obstacles to create opportunities for success. Thanks to the General Assembly, we have the NextNC scholarship

Focus Area #3) The goal is not just about earning college degrees or credentials, it’s about ensuring those credentials align with workforce needs and lead to long-term career success. #2Millionby2030
