An update from our Director of Public Health Dr Rupert Suckling on the Indian Variant

The Integrated Rail plan for the North is due to be published in the coming weeks. I hope the Eastern leg of HS2 through Doncaster will revert back to the original proposed route or to focus investment on upgrading existing local & regional connectivity including the ECML.

What I don't want to see is the Eastern leg just kicked into the long grass, this would continue to leave Mexborough and many other communities along the proposed route suffering in limbo and with continued blight. bit.ly/3e0f2Dz

It would be completely unacceptable to leave these communities without a clear time-line, continuing to restrict economic and social growth in the very communities that need help and investment. They've had nearly 6 years of uncertainty already and this cannot continue.

In Doncaster we continue to see a steady reduction in infections and are below the national average, which is positive news. As restrictions are eased I ask that people be careful and continue to follow the guidance to keep themselves and others safe. #DoncasterIsGreat
