I’m seeing media outlets referring to the impending work stoppage at Air Canada as a strike by flight attendants. It is NOT. Yes, they served notice of strike but Air Canada countered by declaring a LOCKOUT. So that’s what this would be…a LOCKOUT by management #AirCanada

Air Canada settled with its pilots and won’t engage with its exploited flight attendants, almost all women. It counts on the federal government taking away their right to strike. That would be a historic miscalculation for the Liberals.

Did you receive such a message from Air Canada? If so, DO NOT take a refund. Instead, search for alternative flights on your own, and buy a new flight WITHOUT accepting a refund -- then make Air Canada pay for the costs of your new flight.

Airline that took BILLIONS of tax dollars for bailouts, somehow cannot pay employees for hours worked.

What Air Canada needs to realize is that almost no one who is facing a cancelled vacation or return flight this month (myself included) is going to blame the flight attendants for wanting to be paid fairly.

An almost all woman work force Air Canada attendants work 35-40 hours a week without pay - any time not in air. Funny how they settled with their mostly male pilots but refuse even to bargain with women?
