Thank you Kellie Armstrong for highlighting the plight of NI's 220,000 unpaid carers in the Assembly today. They are struggling with poverty, financial hardship & poor mental health. With our population ageing rapidly, the need for carers today & in tomorrows world has never been greater.

Great to attend the launch of "daffodil standards for pharmacy" - it's important to celebrate and recognise the role of our pharmacy community in NI and the critical part they play in caring for those requiring palliative and end of life care. 🌼👩‍⚕️

We need to fix our social security system so no one dies in poverty. Giving working age people diagnosed with a terminal illness a pension level income guarantee is one way of assuring this. We need to find a solution. Great to see this motion debated in the NI Assembly chamber.

Whilst the levers of change on opening up the pension system to working age people with a terminal illness sit in Westminster. Our NI Assembly has an important role in raising this issue for people in NI. Very encouraging to see this debate yesterday.

We were pleased to give evidence today to the Northern Ireland Assembly Committee for Health as part of its inquiry into access to palliative care in NI & look forward to its report & recommendations in due course
