Crucial steps going forward: * Follow BMA's advice, pause MAP recruitment - switch to HCPC regulation, consult and listen properly to Drs on scope and role. * FIX DOCTOR'S TRAINING. It's completely broken with rotations, inflexibility and bottle-necks. That is the priority.

Play in 2 parts: HEE: Listen up, all JD must rotate every 4-6 months. Don't ask why just do it. JD: Sounds terrible for everyone, but okay? *Few years later* HEE: These useless JD keep rotating!!!🤬 Right, we need a new role which is a sort of doctor but doesn't rotate. JD:

55% of doctors have found that PAs increase their workloads, even though they were sold as a way of reducing them. Read our latest survey findings providing further insight into why doctors feel so strongly about physician and anaesthesia associates. bma.org.uk/the-doctor-wil…

Please to see The Royal College of Surgeons of England Council strongly prioritising surgeons over PAs Their scope needs to be defined and severely restricted (if any at all) in the operating room

Great attendance at the pay and pizza event in Aintree Hospital today! Everyone, make sure you return your ballots for the strongest mandate yet. @BMA_JuniorDocs @MerseyRJDC

*Twice* as many people support doctors striking compared to those opposed. No drop in support for us after a year of industrial action. ✊ The public has spoken! mirror.co.uk/news/politics/…

From 7am, we strike again. The Government had the option to avert this strike. We offered to cancel if they extended our mandate and they declined. We're still willing to cancel at any point if they come back with a credible offer on the table. #DoctorsStrike #PayRestoration

As junior doctors in England begin five days of strike action, Deputy council chair Emma Runswick 🏳️‍🌈 tells BBC Breakfast that they have yet to receive a credible offer to put to members.

Victoria Atkins You want the strikes. That’s why you didn’t come to negotiate when the January strikes finished. No one, including the public, believe a word you say. You literally want the strikes, and have forced the strikes from the start by doing this👇 and refusing to fix it

Another strike day. The gov needs to understand something: we are never returning to the status quo. The status quo of annual pay cuts was failing doctors, and it was failing patients. Drs are some of the most resilient people around, and we will keep going as long as it takes

All JD can rattle off a litany of sacrifices they've been FORCED to make for their career: family, houses, children, relationships, friends, weddings, weekends, holidays etc. To now heavily imply that it wasn't needed - can you perhaps appreciate why we are so angry about MAPs?

The GMC don’t see how protecting education & training for doctors is a priority. But they’re happy for resident doctors to be thrown under the regulatory bus. They don’t care about quality or safety. It's time for a NEW REGULATOR.
