I am not in the business of electing Republicans, but the national GOP should look at Governor Phil Scott as a model of how to appeal to, win, and govern citizens across the ideological spectrum. A Conservative party rooted in conspiracy and corruption has no place in our government.

Currently, two Capitol Police Officers are suspended and at least fifteen are under investigation for their actions in Wednesday’s riot. Hopefully, these investigations will result in firings and prosecutions. Let’s not forget the hundreds that did their jobs honorably.

One of the problems with how politics is covered is  many have forgotten that the purpose of politics is policy, as in solving problems. It's not about scoring points in a game of inside baseball. To cover it as such undermines the health and safety of our nation and the planet.
