Last month we did a survey and asked you guys what changes y’all would like to see in DPS. Out of 643 students teachers parents and other Durham residents, 95% of people wanted us to have a mental health and to have more mental health resources.

The Durham Police Department is investigating a homicide near the intersection of Hudson Avenue and N Buchanan Boulevard. Currently Brogden Middle School is on secure status while police investigate. We will release more information as it becomes available.

This is only the first step in the right direction. We are still working and brainstorming ways to better get the word out.

Yesterday hillside hosted a walk out that was attended by almost 1,000 kids in protest to gun violence and police brutality. This is proof that students want a change.

Yesterday Dr. Bullock and Dr. Idaho visited us and we discussed how we should move forward,what we need and future plans about how to better spread our message.
