When you claim to be an egalitarian denomination but only 4% of your pastors are women…you are not egalitarian… #WomanPastor #PastorMusings

With all of these SCOTUS decisions being handed down… I guess they really did “want to make America again” But only for the wealthy white cis men… I am so tired… #WomanPastorMusings

I had to calculate how many total hours (over 8 years) I have worked as pastor for an application today. The number is ~14,600 And some days it feels like many more… #PastorMusings

Prepping for Sunday’s sermon from 1 Thessalonians in which Paul compares his pastoral role as “gentle” and “mothering”. I love this imagery. And it is bananas that the role of pastor has come to be known as the opposite of this. #pastomusings #WomanPastor

I think one reason folks still deep in evangelicalism refuse to change their minds is because saying “I was wrong” is seen as unholy. In other words, because they deem themselves as good and holy, admitting they are wrong means they are bad and unholy…so they double down…

Do you ever just think: "well, this won't be my worst sermon, but it also won't be my best...it will just be enough..." And then hope that your community will find some pearl of hope in your words? #WomanPastor #SermonPrep #HonestPastor

Jesus didn't enter Jerusalem on a war horse, but on an ass...and yet the people still celebrated him... What if we actually do understand the power in non-violent protest? #WomanPastor #PasterMusings #SermonPrep

I’ve been called a heretic multiple times over the last 24 hours. When I was venting to my sisters about it, one of them said “heretics are cooler anyway.” And now I will be making shirts with this quote!

Western culture only understands domination and violence. It is our history. Until we are able to confront that history and repent from it, we will continue to see domination and violence as the answer.
