Shielding students from uncomfortable ideas isn't education. It's groupthink. In healthy learning cultures, students are invited to take intellectual risks. They gain the courage to challenge each other's views—and their own. Silencing dissent is an enemy of critical thinking.

Absolutely agree - this is why we need to be teaching systemic racism. What’s absolutely terrifying is the number of ppl who stand opposed to those teachings. My heart already hurts thinking of how many of our Ss will be affected by this act of terrorism on race. Yet again.
