Club captain James Mildren yesterday reached 250 appearances for United in our 2-2 draw with Bo’ness Athletic. A product of our Community Club, James made his debut in August 2015 and, in the clubs history, only ten players have made more appearance than he now has πŸ‘ πŸ΄πŸ…πŸ

It’s only three days until we embark on our sixth Scottish Cup campaign, travelling to Kings Park in Dalkeith to face Dalkeith Thistle Football Club in Preliminary Round Two. Our last visit back in 2017 resulted in a 2-1 win with goals from Craig Young and Michael Browne. Can we do it again?

It was another professional and well-deserved win tonight. Whitburn had a lot of physicality and were well organised but didn’t register a shot on target all game. Our boys kept the level of performance high throughout and a goal in each half was enough for the win tonight 🏴

It was a tentative start tonight as we let Edinburgh Uni get on the front foot with chances to go ahead. We rode that out and played much better as we headed into the 2nd half. A deflected goal from a freekick for Moore was enough to see us safely through into the next round.

Livingston started better and got their noses in front. We got ourselves back in the game and when we went ahead it looked we’d sealed the points but Livingston snatched a late goal from a long freekick. A share of the spoils and no win bonus for Livi for their Christmas party πŸ₯³

73’ | Harthill get a chance as the striker gets past the defender but Meldrum is out to close the space and saves really well at his feet. ⬛️2️⃣-1οΈβƒ£πŸŸ¦ #Blackburn20sLIVE

A very good win tonight as the boys came from behind to score 3 without reply and come away with the 3 points. Our unbeaten start continues and an excellent McGowan brace and Elliot Harris striker’s finish from Moore’s lovely cross the difference tonight 🏴

47’ | Penalty to Pumpherston. Our defender clears the ball and the referee makes an astonishing decision and awards a freekick after no contact. Meldrum makes a fantastic save!!!!!! ⬛️0️⃣-2οΈβƒ£πŸŸ¨ #Blackburn20sLIVE

After starting well, hitting the post twice and an Edinburgh Community red card, we lost our momentum and went 2 goals down. It was a disappointing spell but the boys kicked on and showed real guts despite being far from our best and came away with the 3 pts after a late penalty.

It takes something special to play against a team whose own manager says are the worst in the club’s history, yet somehow still end up looking silly. And that something special is Glasgow Rangers FC.
