Socially distanced bridge building with second graders.

I haven’t posted much recently but this was too good. The Simley Pep Band played for the kids at Salem. Later these two had their Lego robot dance to Sweet Caroline, which the band played. #simley #LEGO

We are trying a little gardening in the Salem Hills Steam Lab. Kids are excited about the science, responsibility and fun. They also say it just makes the place look better.

How cool is this? 💡 My daughter didn’t have school today so she came to my school in the afternoon for lunch and she made this in one of our breakout rooms. Love her creativity and hoping it inspires my students!

Making Lego robots today with 5th graders. A couple of them made this time lapse of their build. I asked if they knew we had a twitter account and if they would mind if I post it. The response was, “I know. I check it all the time.” LEGO Education

Thank you to these students from the School of Environmental Studies. They came to Salem Hills today to teach us about the importance of mussels and how they keep water clean. We learned a ton!@SES_MN

We were lucky enough to have special guests two days in a row. Today today the 5th graders had the chance to zoom with a retired NASA engineer to learn what it would take to build a colony on the moon. We learned SO MUCH! Thank you, Ann!

Every once in a while older books come back to the library broken. One 4th grade student took it upon herself to make a Book Ambulance so they can ride in style! So cool!

Our educators face tremendous challenges – but every day, they show up – ready to work to put our kids first.   Today in the district, we honored the 11 #MN02 educators nominated for the MN Teacher of the Year Award – our schools & communities are better for their hard work.
