"There's a denial of quite how serious the situation was in 2020." As Prof. Christina Pagel - @chrischirp.bsky.social says, we seem to be forgetting exactly what we were facing. The situation wasn't "carry on and everything will be fine", it was "carry on and hundreds of thousands of people will die".

It's important to stand up to people who would revise the history we all lived through. Both of the candidates to be are next prime minister are trying to do exactly that, to shift the blame for their failed policies on to scientists who don't have the same platform. Scary stuff
