“ because , curly . ” she’s giving his head an affectionate pat and grinning from ear to ear . “ we’re going to a party . one of my friends just dumped her shitty boyfriend and I think you two are gonna hit it off . ”

ember truly was isabelle’s other half . at those words she finally felt some calm , sniffling and pressing a brief kiss to ember’s lips .

she sighed , absorbing the taller woman’s touch . “ it needs to stop snowing . I’m sick of it . ”

“ no , just stay here with me . ” she said quietly , finally pulling away long enough so she can look her in the eyes . “ I’ve missed you , y’know . ”

Belle gave her a sweet smile and leaned up to kiss Ember , one hand settling on the other woman’s hip . “ I bet you did . ”

“ next weekend , hopefully . ” Belle sighed , tenderly resting a hand on her cheek as she leaned into the contact .

it warmed Belle’s heart , how sweet and kind Ember was , how she was learning to be vulnerable with her . “ I’m here now . Make the most of it . ” she said with a grin , pulling her in once more .

“ I’m worried it won’t . I just … she’s my child , I worry she’ll hate me for leaving . ” Belle sighed , shutting her eyes and taking in a breath .
