Just heard that upper earning admins at Marquette are getting $8000 bonuses, which is nearly half of grad student workers stipends. Glad everyone can just keep giving us excuses about why they can't pay us a living wage!

I am tired of this lip service - acknowledgments and appreciation weeks. Do something - provide your international scholars with longer term visas, ask you international departments to be transparent, move your university boards to lobby visa reforms instead of #virtuesignaling

PSA to universities: When your PhD students can’t afford rent, groceries, healthcare, childcare and other essentials, something is very wrong. We can’t expect students to succeed when they are struggling to cover basic living costs. Provide more $ support and raise stipends
