Fascinating paper about a species from an entire lineage (genus Habromys) of arboreal montane deer mice that is in danger of going extinct. Susette Castañeda-Rico et al. generated new genomic resources to understand the evolutionary history of the group better.
Superb #mammalwatching out to Rocky Mountain National Park. Thanks Dr. #BlackLivesMatter Cassin Sackett for taking Susette Castañeda-Rico & me out at #ASMBoulder! We saw 32 elks, moose, mule deer, golden mantled ground squirrel, Wyoming ground squirrel, black-tailed prairie dog, chipmunk sp., and a fox squirrel.
The views of Rocky Mountain National Park and surrounding areas are spectacular. A timed permit system is in place, and reservations are required. Dr. #BlackLivesMatter Cassin Sackett was so kind to show us her prairie dog study area. We got to see them doing their jump-yip behaviour! #ASMBoulder
