Looking at the corporate news headlines… US seems totally disconnected from the historic world events unfolding even though the US is at the center of it. Surreal

Cool so in my kindergarten class there was me (in a wheelchair), one person who used crutches, one person who was deafblind, multiple kids with autism, kids with behavioral conditions, etc. You know why you didn’t see those kids? They placed us in “special” classes.

“The elimination of diversity, equity, and inclusion across industries and institutions speaks loudly. It looks at every commitment of inclusion and statement of solidarity made by these organizations mere years ago and mocks them.” zora.medium.com/in-2020-black-…

Important thread, especially if you hear folks demonizing empathy (I have recently). Truth and empathy are not opposites. More empathy is not the problem.

No matter what you think of the return the Brewers got for Burnes, one thing is very true tonight ... THE CUBS HAVE ALL THE MORE REASON TO GET THEIR FINAL ADDITION(S) DONE RIGHT FREAKING NOW. The 2024 NL Central is just so winnable.

When I was a child, my parents taught me to be against racism (I was lucky). When I was a young adult, I wasn't racist. Middle-aged, I was still learning. At 64, I have realized that although I thought my entire life that I wasn't racist, this American culture bakes it in.

The median US rent is $1967. Which means the median US hourly pay which would be considered livable (1/3 of rent) should be $35.40 The current US median hourly pay is… $17.02 Society will never be “okay” until this is fixed. It’ll always feel like a bad economy because of this

a lot of evangelicals think people deconstruct so that they can sin but most of my deconstruction was actually repenting of the ways i participated in sinful systems like white supremacy, homophobia, and sexism

Art Nouveau doorways are delightful. Like this one in Brussels, designed by Ernest Delune in 1893 for the house of a famous glass maker. And there are plenty more just like it...

I am 2 mins into Piece of My Heart and realize I’ve been aggressively stomping and nodding to the beat. I’m on an airplane next to a stranger. They have inched as far away as possible. Welp.

me, as an evangelical: “you can’t be a christian and democrat” me, when i first deconstructed: “you can’t be a christian and republican” me, now a leftist: “you can’t be a christian and democrat or republican”

Y'all I am against saying that anyone who claims to be a Christian "isn't really one" because a) only God knows the heart, b) "Christian" is a complex sociological term, and c) I don't like when they do it to me. But like....
