Hey! Look! Did you see that massively huge convoy of health workers who has gone in to work each & every day to provide healthcare for vulnerable people amidst staffing shortages, snowstorms & a raging pandemic? Yeah...shoutout to that convoy. That convoy is the best. 🙌🏾

The fact that several elected political leaders in Canada are openly supporting a movement whose alleged leader uses phrases like “depopulation of the Caucasian race” and the need for the “procreation of Anglo-Saxons” is haunting me.

I live in downtown Ottawa and so far, this protest has shut down local small businesses, given a platform to racist confederate flag-waving, defaced the statue of Terry Fox, and treated the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier like a parking lot. None of these things end a pandemic.

I moved to the Country’s capital with such excitement but now I am scared to leave my apartment. Today is a devastating day for Canadians.

We are closing early tonight (Friday) at 6:30pm and staying closed over the weekend until Wednesday Feb 9th🤞. One of our staff was physically assaulted on their way to work today, blocked on the sidewalk by two men and shoved to the ground for wearing a mask.

You never know who around you is immunocompromised. Please continue to protect those around you. This pandemic isn't over.

Wearing masks is a small thing people can do to help protect our communities. This isn’t an individual problem with an individual solution: it’s a collective one that still requires a collective solution. They need to reconsider. They could save lives. It's not too late.
