Why should I have to remind staff to wash their hands? WHAT THE FORK

tern Almost all NHS staff do not wash hands or use sanitizer before/after examining a patient, even after using their own mobiles or the NHS tech or touching the doors/uniform/head 😶 It's bloody terrifying *Observations from my August neurosurgery pre to post op care

tern And here we all assumed that anyone in the "medical field" was automatically taught the concept of "infection control". Dang.

tern Children know they have to wash their hands regularly but now patients are expected to police trained hcw to practice good hygiene in a health care setting. This is a joke, right?

tern Pill Counter Kel 😷 🦇 🦎 Drs were the worst for not washing hands. We did a swab test in the A&E I was infection control lead for and they failed miserably. Things did improve since,esp with alcohol hand sanitisers avail at beds etc. But they still don’t clean their stethoscopes

tern Handwashing was drummed into us as student nurses, and the concept’s never left me. This was before Universal Precautions took hold in the 80’s, after which we wore gloves much more often but still washed our hands just as frequently (and as thoroughly, from habit). Gross to not.
