This month’s pdxwiit featured article calls out the workload of emotional labor. I personally acknowledge I’ve done this to others and it is my responsibility as someone from the dominant group to be aware of this, stop perpetuating it and amplify the cost this has on colleagues

After countless hours of survey creation, response collection + analysis, we made it. Here’s the thing though, we now have data to back up what we already knew: D&I initiatives and programs will never work until they are de-centered from current dominant tech populations.

A recent survey of tech workers by pdxwiit found that white, cisgender employees are more likely to say diversity initiatives are working than transgender people and people of color are. Megan Bigelow and dawn and done tell us about the survey results. opb.org/radio/programs…
