Talk (on Tuesday): Using computational models to characterize the role of motor noise in speech: The case of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. (Ben Parrell, Antje Mefferd, Sarah Harper, Simon Roessig, and Doris Mücke. [4/6]
Poster (on Wednesday): Phase relations between the tongue body and the jaw across rate modifications in younger and older speakers (Tabea Thies, Doris Mücke and Antje Mefferd) [5/6]
Poster session ICPhS 2023 was fun! 😊 Happy that so many interested came and gave valuable feedback.
So proud of our awesome GRA Angela Ding and VUHearingSpeechPhD student mentor Claudia Raines - Angela presented their work at the TN State conference. They examined tongue kinematics in dysarthria (ALS, PD, HD, MS). Stay tuned for more findings from this #NIH #NIDCD funded project

Flashback: A year ago during the summer break, we started piloting whether we could capture #breathing data with #EMA. Now we have our first results and we're staying on it! Anne Hermes ☮️🕊 Philipp Buech ☀️Enjoy the summer break! isca-archive.org/issp_2024/thie…
Congratulations to my PhD student Claudia Raines for placing 3rd with her poster presentation on disease-specific articulatory impairments in talkers with dysarthria. This was her first research project in my lab. Now she is gearing up for her dissertation project. Time flies!!
