My work on solar fibril formation with @JorritLeenaarts Mikolaj Szydlarski and Mats Carlsson was featured as cover art for the A&A journal! They were kind enough to send us some posters to celebrate! doi.org/10.1051/0004-6…

Presenting multi-dimensional models of chromospheric evaporation by beam electrons - at AIP Potsdam #solarnet I believe that is a first reporting! #FWOVlaanderen CmPA Hopefully this will also enable testing of results from 1D flare models in a multi-d setting!

Second presentation at AIP #solarnet conference in Potsdam Germany! Work done between CmPA @JorritLeenaarts in Stockholm ISP, and collaborators in RoCS Oslo. Comparing the mass loading of fibrils and mottles using Bifrost simulations!

My colleague Dr. Sunshine presenting some awesome work on classification of spectra using machine learning algorithms! Also flying the flag for CmPA at the #solarnet conference in AIP, Potsdam! Well done, Katia!

The first ever sunspot observations from a telescope (by Galileo), versus the newly released sunspot images from the U.S. National Science Foundation's Inouye Solar Telescope. We’ve come a long way!

Holy smokes, look at the size of that filament eruption! These things have a mass comparable to Mt Everest. Given their size, is that more or less than what you’d expect intuitively? #astronomy #spaceweather (data: SUVI)

Really happy to announce that I will be starting a Lectureship position in the University of Sheffield this August! I will be working in the Plasma Dynamics Group within the Department of ACSE (Who are experts in automation, robotics, machine learning, and much more!)

Many congratulations to my new collaborators from Georgia on our recent paper looking into more generalised formulae for electron-proton recombination rates, Tamaz Kereselidze and Irakli Noselidze doi.org/10.1103/gyhl-9… (Art supplied by Dr. GPT to make the post look nicer!)

The UK Solar Physics Council, with the help of our community, has written an open letter in response to recent funding proposal announcements, which would deeply impact UK science, and particularly early career researchers: sites.google.com/view/open-lett…
