RTÉ as everyone knows has had a torrid 18 months, but its Olympic coverage was outstanding. Kudos in particular to John Kenny, Greg Allen, Timmy McCarthy and, of course, the incomparable David Gillick, but they all excelled themselves from start to finish.

What a gentleman Kevin was, a really nice guy who was a brilliant player and who was probably ahead of his time. He was a great help to me in my recovery from my knee injury in his gym in Paul Street which helped me get back to club & international duty, may he rest in peace.

I've written before about the crucifying cruelty of dementia. But when it is somebody not much older than yourself and the family are broken, the ache intensifies. A column about the horror of watching a loved one ebb. Alive but no longer living.

I am thrilled to say that I will be commentating for RTÉ Sport on both the #wheelchair men’s & women’s basketball finals at the upcoming #Paralympics2024 in #PARIS2024. Really excited about this, and can’t wait to see the best in the world look to win medals for their countries.

Had a super time at the Neptune basketball club Stadium for the Masters tournament, got to see some old friends & foes & a court where we had huge battles in the #Goldenera of Irish basketball.
