I seek to empathetically support students with behaviour issues. We need to sympathize with their struggles but... we must avoid enabling misbehaviour. Refusing to accept “bad” behaviours isn’t always “harsh” or “punitive”. Does this popular book address this need for balance?

Canada won’t allow Huawei or ZTE to set up our 5G network. YAY! (Nothing against the Chinese people but everything against their bullying government.) China vowed to retaliate. They want to punish us so that other nations won’t stand up for themselves! Remember the 2 Michaels!

I’m interested (and a little surprised) at the use of the term “derecho” for yesterday’s storms - but first I have some questions about this type of storm. First, this type if storm is rare in SWOnt. Why? Is it the interference of lake breezes or the cool water of the lakes?

mclarty (@mclarty68349525) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Second of my questions... was it really a derecho? Certainly the storms had some derecho characteristics. They were a fast-moving line of long-lived thunder storms. They had powerful straight line winds parallel to the storms direction. There was some damage.

Lastly: There were some missing derecho characteristics. Maybe the winds were caused by other storm dynamics? The powerful winds quickly died down (3-4 min) after the passage of the gust front. (Instead of building) There was no bow echo. Is this typical of weaker derechos?

The Ukrainian family that will be staying at my house sent me this photo of destruction near her parent’s home! The parents want to come but Canada’s government isn’t making the process easy. It’s up to the public to “host” refugees and make it possible. More hosts are needed!

Today we announced the seizure of the Russian Antonov cargo aircraft at Pearson Airport. This sends a clear message to Russia that their illegal invasion continues to have consequences. We will always be there for the Ukrainian people. ⬇️ canada.ca/en/global-affa…

I agree with those who feel that this is a trap for Israel. From my (admittedly) ignorant position, Hamas wants to draw Israel in. If Israel could somehow hold back on their offensive, it would save thousands of lives & thwart the aims of a terrorist organization. Am I naive?

Everyone should read this thread from a BBC journalist. Many will deflect, others simply won’t believe it’s true. But it’s important not to look away

Love the brilliant “censorship” of the colourful language of this post relating to the Surrey school district’s (essential) censorship of groundbreaking books which use the n-word to prove a point. Underground to Canada” suffered a similar misguided (non-religious) censorship.
