In April, MCID welcomed a group of professionals for a IVLP project on Environmental Engagement and the Economy. Thank you Global New Orleans, Global Minnesota, and WorldDenver for all your help in putting this amazing project together!

This April, MCID had the privilege of hosting an #IVLP group working on A.I. Infrastructure and Curriculum and Development. This group after #Washington DC, traveled to #Pittsburgh and then ended their program in #Miami. GlobalPittsburgh Global Ties Miami IVLP

Earlier this month, MCID said goodbye to 16 visitors from all over the world who came to the US for a IVLP project titled “Renewable Energy as an Economic Driver.” While here, the group visited DC, Burlington, San Francisco and Sacramento, Houston, and Cincinnati.

Originally starting as a holiday in Texas marking the day that slaves were freed in Galveston, TX, Juneteenth today is more broadly understood as a day commemorating the end to slavery in the United States. MCID would like to wish everyone a restful and happy Juneteenth!

In late spring of this year, MCID hosted seven visitors from across Africa for an #IVLP on combatting illegal fishing. The visitors traveled to DC, New Hampshire, Ohio, and Oregon to learn about countering illegal fishing and fisheries management.

MCID is proud to work with IVLP in implementing this project. The Ukrainian cultural heritage experts on this project have helped us better understand the challenges and successes of creating and preserving art in their home country.

To end human trafficking, we must work together across borders. Recently, anti-trafficking experts from Central and South America met with their professional counterparts in Missouri and Montana to network and share best practices to combat human trafficking. #IVLP
