Though legally counted as white, #ArabAmericans experience mental distress at much higher rates than Euro-descended whites. That's why ACCESS Community intern and incoming UIUC Psychology Department PhD @mayaslme did a study on Arab Am. #mentalhealth this summer, with some important findings:

Interestingly, experience & perception of mental health varied most by generation. 97% (‼️) of second generation study participants felt that their community minimized mental health issues:
